About Us

As the kennel name suggests, we are located in Trøndelag (Trønderpia means girl from Trøndelag).

I have wanted a dog for as long as I can remember. But as a child having a dog was out of the question at our place, we had cats and that was that. My granddad's old Norwegian Elkhound got walks and a bit of obedeince training when my longing for a dog bevame too strong.

Only when I was established with a family of my own, I got my first dog. It was a Bernese Mountain Dog. A kind and robust dog that was great when we had small chinldren in the house. Since then we have had both Belgian Shpeherd (Tervueren) and Silky Terrier before we aquired our first crested in 1997. Prefix Yours Truly (Sofie) melted our hearts form the very first moment. A wonderful pouwderpuff bitch with an amazing temperament. With a grandsire (Multi ch Prefix Damaskus ”Otto”) that is one of the top winning cresteds of all times she should have the best genes. Otto was a fantastic dog, not only in conformation but also a very special dog with an exceptional temperament. We had the pleasure of meeting him twice prior to his death in 20003, 11 years old.

Sofie became a champion when she was 2 years, and had her first of 2 litters when she was 2,5 years.

In 2000 we bought another bitch from kennel Prefix. This time a happy little hairless girl (Prefix Go Go Girl).

Since then the crested family has grown, as we have kept offspring from our two first swedish imports. We now have 6 bitches and 4 males living at home.

Our breeding is small-scale, and our aim is to keep the fantastic temperament of Blondi and Sofie. For us temperament is our prime concern in our breeding program, even though of course other qualities are important.

Unfortunately Sofie died 3rd January 2004. It was sudden, very unexpected and much to early. She was only 6,5 years. It was heartbreaking, but we take comfort in the many good memories (in fact only good memories) from our first crested bitch who is the reason for this special breed having a very special and very central place in our hearts.
